Even If We Just Hope That a So Far Non-Existent “Good Trump” Will Magically Appear, We Are Delusional!
This is not like Donald Trump is a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde combo, and we all hope that his Dr. Jekyll will stand up and take control of his Mr. Hyde. We should realize that that doesn’t even happen in the fictional story. (Actually, it does happen in the story, but then he immediately dies.) We know that truth is sometimes stranger than fiction, and perhaps here too, but it is very interesting to hope for that truth stranger than the fiction.
But Donald Trump is not a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde combo. He’s just a Mr. Hyde. And he’s not a Mr. Hyde with a secret, very secretly hidden Dr. Jekyll, who will stand up and take over. We’re all hoping, against all rationality, that he does have a hidden secret Dr. Jekyll who will appear to save us all, including himself. We’re all hoping that because, when you can’t hope for the possible, your only recourse is to the impossible. Unfortunately, that’s delusional!!!

What’s a Real Apology?
Apologies are real, genuine, when they are sincere, and take unambiguous full responsibility for words and actions, so that their victim can see, and appreciate, that the person who wronged them cares about wronging them. Only then, when the victim has reason to credit their abuser with some decency, can they gather enough respect for them to get some comfort from the apology.
