State Police alerted after Nazareth College students of Muslim faith attend Penfield church

“After their student status was confirmed, the police dropped the matter.”

Was this necessary? Was even checking the students story necessary? I have been to this Church many times. Not for Services but for concerts. Thank God the “Church” is longer used for that.

We advocate common sense profiling., As uppitywoman comments, Mr. Roof walked right in to the church he attacked. Obviously, when looking for white supremacists, we are not going to target an equal number of other races and genders just to show we are not profiling in an unconstitutional manner. Rather, we are going to be sensible and safe.

This is a strange assignment, and probably violates the separation of church and state in a number of ways, though as a suggestion or an option for an assignment, it may not be unconstitutional.

My inclination about racial profiling is to judge it by its abuse. If ever at the level of common sense I would expect it to deteriorate into abuse. My prejudice and pessimism tells me so.
