Karen was Wronged!

“A fan’s first commandment on attending baseball games: Foul balls and home runs should be given to children. Always.”

BUT? Who should give the ball to a child? It’s obvious that the ball was at her feet and was stolen away by the father of the child. His intention to give the ball to his child, does not make him “not a thief.“ The ball was hers and it was her prerogative to keep the ball or follow the rule.

Also, however enraged, she handled her end correctly by addressing the parent, not the child. His behavior is represented as that of a responsible adult in the circumstances – and it may have been that too – but perhaps also a sense of decency after grabbing a ball at someone else’s feet who wasn’t fast enough to bend down and get it.
